Resilience & Bounce Back Ability

Hi, How are you? Have you been taking care of yourself and are you in control? Over the next month or so I am looking to post blogs with hints and tips so that we can really start to take the control back. Let me know what you think and if you want any particular subjects covered in the future. So let's take a look at resilience. On a scale of 1-10 how resilient do you feel at the moment? (10 being super resilient) .... If you are unsure ask yourself these questions.. You suddenly find a leak in your house; 😬 A friend reached out for some help; 🥺 A person gets ill and needs help; 😟 A work request lands with a tight deadline; 😳 The car breakdowns; 🤯 The internet drops; 😵 Would you be fine or would you be overwhelmed and over react to the situation? How easy do you find it to bounce back from an emotional knock or set back? This is generally an indication of how resilient you are. We all have moments in our life when we can cope. We have lots of energy physically and mentally to cope with lots of things. The balance is perfect and all is good. 😁 Other times we can find ourselves getting overwhelmed by the slightest of things such as a cancelled appoint becomes the end of the world. An extra thing on the to do list sees us thinking "why me?" 🤬 The simple fact is, it's not always you. It's just we need to reframe the energy and use our self care box to get everything balanced again. So some tips to start you on your way: 💫 Make space for quiet time on a regular basis daily or minimum of weekly so you can think and reflect on what's happening, where you are putting your energy. Listening to your body is key👍 💫 Look at who you have in your circle of people - what do they take, what do they give? Is it time to clean out your friendship closet? If you cannot move on from the relationship ask yourself how honest are you with them about - do they know the impact they have on you?🧑‍🤝‍🧑👭👬👫 💫 Exercise - I know we are always told to exercise but here's the thing it's not about a 10k run or a gym workout it can be just a good walk that gets your heart pumping. Enough to get the endorphins working in you to help recharge. You know what you need to do.🚶🏃🚶 💫 We are what we eat right? So again it's not about never having chocolate again it's about having a balanced amount of everything. Water is a big win and within everyone's ability to drink daily instead of the coffee switch to every other cup is just tap water.🥤☕🥤 💫 Journal your thoughts and do it on good days as well as bad. This way you can reflect, revisit and understand if it is a bad day or a bad life? You will also capture the triggers that bring your resilience down.📝📖📙 💫 Breath and self check. How bad does it seem and feel? Is that the reality of you catastrophizing? Being aware of keeping yourself grounded and in the moment can really help you manage the situation and showcase your resilience.🧘😶🧘 There are many more hints and tips to go into your self care box. You alone know the ones that will work for you. Even if this list has you thinking that's a start...👍 Another big support for building up resilience is to work with a Life Coach. A few bespoke sessions can help you find your way. Then, just like a physical gym, a life coaching session now and then will help keep the mental gym in check and away you go.🎉🥇🎉 I hope you found this blog useful and if you want to connect with me follow the link in my website. I am here to help you start taking the control back. 💫🎉💫 Next time I am going to focus on Relationships until then be kind, be safe and be the best version you can be ! And remember to enjoy the journey and don't just focus on the destination.....
